Privacy Policy

Our approach

BuyQuor is designed with Canadian privacy principles in mind. We collect only what is necessary to build and demonstrate negotiating power on behalf of Canadian wireless consumers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

Plain language: We collect your wireless-plan information, how much you spend, what you care about, and your email address. We use it to build a verified pool of Canadian households ready to switch — and to negotiate better rates collectively. We do not sell your personal data.

Information we collect

During the Join flow

• Number of wireless lines in your household
• Who pays for those lines
• Province and (optionally) first 3 characters of your postal code
• Current wireless carrier
• Approximate monthly household wireless cost (self-reported estimate)
• Data allowance preferences
• What factors would motivate switching carriers
• Your desired monthly price per line
• Self-reported wireless customer service experience (optional detail)
• Device ownership and financing status
• Readiness and likelihood to switch
• Number porting preference
• Optional free-text story (max 750 characters)

Participation data

• Email address (for verification and campaign updates)
• First name (optional)
• Consent choices and timestamps
• Verified participation status
• Referral code and attribution
• Founding participant sequence number

Automatically collected

• UTM parameters and referral source (from URL)
• Browser type and device class (mobile/tablet/desktop) — for analytics only
• Campaign events (e.g. "started join flow", "email verified") — no PII in event metadata

What we never collect

• Individual phone numbers
• Wireless account numbers or passwords
• Payment information
• Full postal code (only the first 3 characters, optionally)
• Government ID

How we use your information

• Campaign participation: To count your represented wireless lines in The 10,000 Switch Quorum after email verification.
• Demand intelligence: To build aggregated, anonymized statistics demonstrating the scope and terms Canadians would accept — shared with potential carrier partners without individual identification.
• Email verification: To confirm your participation is real and prevent duplicate inflation of the Quorum counter.
• Campaign communications: To notify you of Quorum progress, any qualifying offers, and campaign milestones. Required for participation.
• Referral tracking: To attribute participation to the participant who referred you and to measure campaign reach.
• Analytics: To understand how people move through the join flow and where we can improve it. No PII is stored in analytics events.
• Marketing (optional): Only if you separately consented, to send you information about other BuyQuor campaigns.

Verified Lines

Verified Lines are wireless lines declared by BuyQuor participants who have completed our participant verification process. BuyQuor has not independently verified ownership of each individual phone number at this stage. The Quorum counter reflects self-declared, verified-email participation only.

Aggregate research

BuyQuor may use participant responses in aggregated, anonymized research to demonstrate market demand to potential carrier partners, regulators, or the public. Aggregated data cannot be traced back to any individual participant. All such data is clearly labeled as self-reported participant data.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share:

• Anonymized, aggregated statistics with potential carrier partners and public reports
• Necessary data with our technical service providers (database hosting, email delivery) under data processing agreements
• Data if required by law or valid legal process

Data retention

We retain participant data for the duration of The 10,000 Switch campaign and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill our campaign obligations. If you withdraw consent or request deletion, we will remove your personal data from active systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained indefinitely.

Your rights

You may request at any time:

• Access to your personal data
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your participation record
• Withdrawal of any consent (including marketing consent)

Security

All data is stored in a Canadian-region database. Participant data is protected by row-level security — unauthenticated requests cannot read individual participant records. Email verification is required before lines are counted publicly. We do not log PII.
