Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions, answered.

What is BuyQuor?

BuyQuor is an independent consumer-demand platform that aggregates verified intent from consumers willing to consider switching providers — in exchange for a materially better offer. The 10,000 Switch is BuyQuor’s first campaign, focused on Canadian wireless service.

What is The 10,000 Switch?

The 10,000 Switch is BuyQuor’s first campaign. It aims to assemble 10,000 verified wireless lines from Canadians who are willing to consider switching wireless providers for a genuinely better deal. When Quorum is reached, BuyQuor intends to invite qualifying providers to compete for the group’s business.

Does joining obligate me to switch?

No. Joining BuyQuor does not obligate you to switch providers. You join to indicate that you would consider switching for a better offer. When Quorum is reached and an offer is presented, you decide independently whether it makes sense for you.

Does joining cost anything?

No. Joining BuyQuor is free. There are no fees, deposits, or payment information required.

Which carrier will win?

We don’t know yet, and BuyQuor is deliberately carrier-neutral. The goal is to create competitive pressure so that the best offer for consumers wins. No carrier has agreed to participate at this stage.

Are Bell, Rogers, TELUS, Public Mobile, or Freedom already participating?

No. No carrier has been invited to participate or has agreed to do so at this stage. BuyQuor will move into provider engagement when Quorum is reached.

Can my whole household join?

Yes. Participants should indicate how many wireless lines their household represents when they join. One person can represent multiple lines — the Quorum counter tracks verified wireless lines, not individual registrations.

Can I keep my existing phone number?

Canadian mobile numbers can generally be ported between eligible carriers, but specific conditions apply depending on the carriers involved. BuyQuor does not provide a guarantee of porting — that will depend on the carrier selected and applicable CRTC regulations.

What happens when Quorum is reached?

BuyQuor will move into the provider engagement and negotiation phase. We will invite qualifying Canadian wireless providers to put forward their best offer for the group. Participants will be informed of the process and any resulting offer.

How will BuyQuor make money?

BuyQuor expects to seek compensation from participating suppliers or carriers for successfully delivering new customers. Our objective is to align that compensation with a materially better offer for consumers — so that BuyQuor’s interests and participant interests are aligned.

What information does BuyQuor collect?

BuyQuor collects the information you provide when joining \u2014 such as your province, current carrier, number of lines, and monthly cost. We do not collect SIN, payment information, carrier account numbers, full street addresses, or dates of birth. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
